From London to the Schwarzwald, Bavaria

The Black Forest, or Schwarzwald, in Bavaria was where we began our cycling holiday.  Our plan was to cycle from the source of the Danube river to Vienna, around 1,000 km.  We were a day behind due to our flight being cancelled so started our journey in Mulheim.  We stayed in the old part of the town which was very pretty.

Dream home with campervan thrown in!

This house might be a bit small for you!

After a couple of days we noticed that there were quite a few references to Grimm’s fairy tales through statues and that the Germans of Bavaria are very religious.  There were religious statues and murals everywhere!  The old buildings were very well preserved.

Left over from Easter

Lit up in the evening to keep that Big Bad Wolf away!

As we set off there was so much to see and take in.  There were so many lovely buildings to take photos of and the beautiful countryside, we haven’t even got to the food yet!

Creative wood stacking.

Those 3 Little Pigs better look out for the Wolf
